Lust or Must

I have not update the blog in a LONG time. So I thought I would come back with a new segment. Lust or Must. Here I will dish out my favorite things right now, which ones are lusts (meaning prepare to pay more, but its better quality) or must (as in, you need this, if you are broke, buy this version)

SO HERE WE GO!

LUST: Bare Essentuals Mineral Foundation

So it's no secret that Bare Essentuals is taking over the world. I have bought it a few times, mostly for special occassions, when I reallY was willing to spend a bit more for some nicer stuff. The only complaint that I have ever had about their powder foundation, is that I have freckles, and lots of them in fact. I always felt like I had to wear foundation under it as well to get the coverage I wanted. But I was at Sephora the other day, and tried it again, and man was it better this time. I dont know if they changed the formula or something, but it was a lot better. Plus now they have these fifty click tops to keep your foundation in there, so its not all over the place. I hated that. It is a great foundation, looks natural. Runs about $25 a piece.

MUST: Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Loose Powder

I bought this a while ago and so far it has really served it purpose well. It can build up to look a little cakey, so watch out, but for the price, it has been the best coverage an inexpensive mineral make-up can get. Plus for whatever reason it lasts forever. I have had mine 2 months, and usually it would be gone by now, but I still have more than half the bottle. A little goes a long way. You can get this at Wal-mart for $11.

LUST: Bare Essentuals Radiance in Pure Radiance

What can I say besides this all over glow powder makes your face look bright, fresh, healthy, and flawless. Its light enough in color that it doesnt overwhelm your skin tone, and it add just enough brightness to the face. LOVE. $18

MUST:Physicans Formula Shimmer strips in Waikiki strip

I love these strips. I usually get them in Vegas strip, but when you want a more peachy summery glow, Waikiki strip is the way to go. They add enough shimmer, and I love that you can customize the colors for you. At Wal-mart for $12

LUST: Makeup Forever HD Powder

You will die for this, die I tell you. I was taught about this amazing little product by my teacher at school who is a make-up atrist. It feels like silk, literally like silk on your face. It is essential for setting your powder without it looking cakey, it is amazing for smoothing lines and wrinkles. Over all, this is THE most amazing product you will ever own. You face will look like a freaking porcelein doll. You need this, its only $15.50 at Sephora.

MUST: Ben Nye Neutral Set Face Powder

Ok, so the other one was a must, but if you REAAAAAAALLLLY dont have $16 bucks to spend, get this. It's similar to HD powder in the way that it sets your make-up, and helps your complexion look smoother, but sometimes the white of the powder can be too white, and doesn't blend away entirely like it should. It also is a little rougher than HD. You can feel a very distinct difference when feeling them both. BUT, this is a great cheap version that will help give you a similar flawless finish. At Taylor Maid for $6.

LUST: Bare Essentuals Buxom lipgloss in Bunny

Wow I have a lot of Bare Essentual products on here today, but hey, they know how to do it right! Anyway a friend suggested this lipgloss to me, and I am in full blown love. Bunny is the prettiest sheer pink color, its not too pink pink, its the perfect baby pink, and Im obsessed. Plus its a lip plumper...or so it says. Personally I dont think its an amazing lip plumper, you can tell a little when you first put it on, but then it fades away, but it does make your lips tingle a bit and feel really cold, which I love, and the color is just what you cant deny. At Sephora $18

MUST: Revlon Colorbust Lipgloss in Pink Ice

I couldn't find a single lipgloss one day, so I ran on my break from work over to Target and grabbed the 1st sutible lipgloss I could find. I got this one. It is not a "plumper" like buxom, but it is still a really really pretty shade of pink, its actually mostly clear with just a hint of pink, and tons of shimmer...but not the stripper type of lip shimmer. Enough to just see it catch the light and look pretty. If you aren't equipt to spend almost $20 bucks on a lipgloss, go for this one at Target for $7.

YAY! NEW MAKE-UP!

Well people...any people looking at this, I have got a new list of make-up/ hair supplies to talk about and rate. You will love it!

Ok first things first: make-up

I recently ran out of my favorite Photo finish foundation so I decided it was time to venture out and test new foundations. Well this one was not really a test, I have used it before, and honestly I loved it, and I was kinda missing using my stippling brush BUT it is expensive for not being a "professional" brand. It is the Sally Hansen Airbrush Spray Make-up. It is literally a spray. It is about 15 dollars and usually I found it at Ulta, but they got rid of the line, so I found it at CVS here in Missouri. The directions tell you to spray it directly to the back of your hand before blending. I noticed that I lost a lot of product that way because it is so thin and my skin just kind of soaked it up. So I spray it right to me face, and then use a stippling brush (highlighter brush) MAC makes one, but you can find a cheaper version at Ulta. It is nice because the coverage looks light but I think it covers better than a liquid. I would suggest it!

Next, I ran out of my VS bronzer so I decided to try out Physicians Formula. I love that brand of make-up so I tried one I havent before, It is a Pearl Shimmer bronzer. I liked the color and the shimmer, but honestly I didnt like how it was so thin that I had to put on several layers to get it as dark on face as I needed. Honestly I would suggest Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips bronzer in Vegas Strip. Its a better deal.

HAIR STUFF!!!

I also got new hair stuff, first of all I got this AWESOME stuff called Bain de Terre Recovery Complex Balm. It is amazing, It is about 18 bucks where they sell beauty supplies. It is made to be conditioning balm that you wash out after shampooing, it made my hair look incredible. My split ends were gone immediently, my hair looked like it had just been cut. It is a little expensive, but so worth it.

I got new shampoo and conditioner as well! I usually like to get professional shampoo so it doesn't have the sulfate and stuff in it, which dries out hair. But this time I went back to using a shampoo I used to use a long time ago. When I worked at Chili's I used the Victoria's Secret SO SEXY shampoo. Now I can't say that it is healthy for your hair, I dont know if it is, but what I do know is it is the strongest smelling shampoo ever ahah. When I worked there, my hair always would come home smelling like fried food. Very gross. So when I started using that it smelled like the very sexy perfume all the time, even after a long day at the restraunt. If you want something that makes your hair smell amazing all day long, this is it, the scent does not fade. My husband can't complain. :)

Show some skin :)

I recently have broken out a lot...and I finally found the source thank heavens! I had been breaking out all along my chin and it's because I have been sleeping cupping my husbands head underneath mine while he lays on my chest. Yes it is comfortable, but my chin is smashed into his hair all night. So that got me on a rampage to find something to clear me up before I figured out this was the cause. I figured that something had changed or I had gotten used to the stuff I was using and it didn't work anymore. Here is what I have come across. I usually use Cetaphil

and it has worked great for me. It is pretty mild and just does the job since I don't really get break outs. More like a pimple or 2 every once in a while. But in my recent search for something to help I considered Proactiv and decided against it. I read on Acne.org that people had horrible reviews of it! people hated to more than loved and it was not worth the money. Then I stumbled upon this...

This is Calamine Lotion. I read the reviews on it and people were raving about it and its ability to dry up pimples fast even though that was not its intended purpose. So I went and bought some, this one to be exact and mine is clear. (some turn your skin white or pink) but I have been using it every night before bed with a clean face and it really has been helping. The ones that were bad are fading away and I have not had any new ones show up! Im way excited about it! And It was only like 3 bucks. Worth the try for sure!

Now on to moisturizer, I have a skin disease. Im just gonna put that out there. I have had it since I can remember. I think it started when I was a kid, me and my parents all got a nasty skin virus from dirty hot tub water and since then I have had this. Its called Folliculitis combined with Keratosis Pilaris. Basically my skin produces extra keratin from hair and nails and it gets trapped in my hair follical and since my skin is dry it has no way to get out. It gets pretty much on my arms only and ocassionaly the back of my legs, weird! It makes me pretty sad sometimes because I have a lot of scars, and have been to many doctors, and have been on lots of antibiotics to fix it and never have. But I was introduced to something so amazing that I have to share it. It is called Jojoba Oil. It is not the ONLY moisturizer that I will use now. It has helped with my arms so much and I have yet to see a single bump on my arm since using it (since Feb) I use it on my face and my body and if it helped me, it WILL help you. Check it out!

My Make-up NOW

So I have had a lot of people ask me what make-up I use because honestly (im not being full of myself) but it usually turns out pretty good in pictures. Here are the things that I use and it may come as a surpise to you that most of it is inexpensive make-up! Let me show you what I got, why I use it, and whether or not it is one of my *alltime favorites

BRONZER:
This is Victoria's Secret Wild Thing bronzer. I just picked this up a little while ago. I can honestly say that I love it so much. It has a little sheen to it, not glitter! but shine so that it looks like you are glowing when you put it on. It was about $14 and it was worth it for sure. The only problem...it is limited edition for the summer of 2010. So when it runs its course, I found a backup, a little less expensive and almost the same! It's by Hard Candy and it is called So Baked Bronzer. Lovely.

BLUSH:
I cannot rave enough about this stuff. It truly is amazing. I got my first one at the dollar store, Im not gonna lie. I was there getting something and ran across this wondering why it was at the dollar store, i decided it was worth the dollar and I am so glad I bought it. It is so light, and easy to put on. It is the most pretty light pink color and it is the only blush I will ever use. **alltime favorite.

EYELINER:
This is my favorite eyeliner I have ever used. It is like a felt pen, and goes on SO SO easy even for people who have never used liquid eyeliner, plus it is way cleaner, and stays on so long. **alltime favorite!

FOUNDATION:
For the last several months I have used this baby right here. Basically I have never found a foundation that I LOOOOOOVE, but this one has come pretty close. I naturally am FULL of freckles on my face, and because so my skin tone is uneven, so I have to use foundation (I really wish this was not so) When I first saw a commercial for it, it looked perfect for me because I usually my foundation washes me out in pictures, but ever since using this, BAM! My face looks nearly perfect in pictures! A+!

EYESHADOW:

Hello and welcome to the MAC Pigment Pot! This is pretty much the only eyeshadow I will use and have used for like the last 5 years. I have a couple of these and the thing that is wonderful about them is that they last forever, and I do mean forever. They are a little expensive, about $20 but they are such beautiful rich colors, they go on so smooth, and a little goes a long way. My first one from 5 years ago is only 1/3 empty. A true investment. *Alltime Favorite!!!

MASCARA:

Maybeline mascara is my favorite kind so far, but I have never used only that I fell totally totally in love with. This is pretty good, but I plan on using Lash Stilleto next.
So there you go, it is what I use. I didn't put up lipgloss because quite frankly I have about 50 lipglosses. VS Beauty Rush, Bath and Body works, and some other randoms. They are all great. But I do really like Sexy Motherpucker from Soap & Glory. Try it!
